Scare-dy Dog

This weekend we went to the opening of Petco---you know, sing it with me, "Petco, where the pets go." Big dogs and little dogs, all of them ate free treats and their servants uh, hum...were given bags of toys and sample foods for them to bring home. Contests for the best dressed, biggest, littlest....okay you get the idea.

In the back of the store, they set up a photo shoot, just for the dogs. A tall white cloth background hung down and draped onto the floor. I watched as proud servants, uh, owners tried to get their pet to stay still for the photo.

One dog was terrified. He struggled pulling away with his tail tucked and eventually messed up the cloth. I didn't watch to see the end. These owners just wanted a special memory moment of their dog, but he didn't understand. He was scared of the draping cloth and that his family was not standing with him.

"'I'll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,' we can boldly quote, God is there, ready to help; I'm fearless not matter what. Who or what can get to me?" Hebrews 13 :5-6

When God leads toward unfamiliar territory and I balk and pull back, I must appear to Him as this dog did with his photo shoot. I must trust His loving hand and step out on the white drape. Even if He lets go of my leash for a moment, I know His plan is just, and He's right beside me, even if I don't feel it so.

Are you in a strange place? What keeps you tethered?

I think we all feel live quivering puppies at some times. Isn't it wonderful that God takes care of us. I guess I stay tethered to Him through prayer and Bible reading. Sometimes I just gotta trust no matter how scared I get!

Karen,
I always seem to be in strange place, but it's good to know I am on a leash!

Have a great St. Patrick's Day!

Good post.
What keeps me tethered? I just start remembering all the times God has put me in a strange place and it ultimately turned out to be a really good thing. :)

Kathy, the puppy was okay, but I think the owners were a bit sad.

Jeanie, yep, trust, as I run under the chair to hide.

Diane, God always gives us hope for the 'morrow! :)

Libbie, you're so sweet. I know sometimes He has to yank my leash awful hard. :P

Kate, we are His, I'm so glad.

Emily, that's a good thought. Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope to read your book real soon! And thanks for following. Blessings**

Yes Karen, some dogs can be sensitive to a strange place and strangers. - Dave

Awww... I want to cry when I read stuff like this.

I sometimes panic when I need to do something on the computer I'm not familiar with, or confront at person--yikes!

So glad the Lord never lets go of me.

You are a blessing, Karen. So many lovely insights floating around your brain!

Dave, yes, they can. They can also tell when the owners are tense, too. Smart little things, aren't they.

Jeanette, yes He never lets go! Insights, floating and crashing sometimes in my head....:) You are too sweet.
