He chased this squirrel up the palm and is waiting for it scramble down. Yeah right. This little one knows he's safe up in the tree, although my dog is just feet away.
In fact he decided to continue eating this acorn he just dug up while waiting for Major to leave. I finally put Major inside, to protect the little squirrel.
"And I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand.: John 10:28 (Jesus)
Life chases us up trees sometimes. But while the danger nips at my heel,...or tail, God keeps my soul and protects it forever.
I'm sitting pretty in the palms.

Major is so handsome! He's just following his instincts hehehe.
My dog loves to chase squirrels too! All I have to do is say the word "squirrel" and he will run from window to window looking and barking. One time, when we were outside,I thought for sure he'd climb an oak tree because he lept so high up the trunk!
Good thoughts.
"Sitting pretty in the palms" -- I like that!!
I just love it when Major appears in your posts. Great words too.
Karen, I love the way you find scriptural application from ordinary things. I am going to picture myself sitting pretty in the palms when I feel overwhelmed from now on!
Great photos! Major the dog will have to try and catch him on another day.
Praise God He is our eternal protector.

Parsley, yes he is, he finally figured out that squirrels run UP the trees, not like the rabbits...teehee.
Donna, oh, what kind of dog do you have?
Kathy and Laura, thanks so much.
Jeanie, and you say you're not a dog lover, ha!
Linda, I like to visualize too, can you tell? :)
Ron, Amen to that!
Ahaha! I LOVE this, Karen! You sure seem to have a lot of action in your yard. And Major had me fooled...(you'd think since we own a squirrel-chasing Aussie I'd know better).
Cute, cute pics.
I'm with you, my friend. Sitting pretty in the palms.
You have a lovely dog Karen. Bet he was just having fun, and bet the squirrel probably didn't mind too much either. :-) Dave
Beautiful imagery, as always, Karen. I feel like the squirrell at lot of the time! Thanks for reminding me that I'm safely guarded. ;0)
Julie, yes, I remember your dog, what a cutie! Major would probably love her. :)
Dave, the little squirrel lived to run another day!
Melinda, I wonder how often we are guarded in times we don't even know.
God sure protected me Saturday...I sat in a car dealership about to buy a new automobile.
He whispered to my heart.
And I drove away in my old car.
Don't you love how He looks after us?
Sweet dreams.
Karen, You just keep writing! this one really touched me. I needed to be safe in the tree today. Thanks. love it when you write about Major. Clella
your Scripture is wonderful and Truth.
As far a sweet major: my fingers are in my ears and i'm saying, "la-la-la-la-la...i can't hear you." that precious dog is as innocent as a babe. that squirrel probably provoked HIM somehow. i'm sure of it...LOL!!! *big wink*
Deb, that small still voice is always there, to protect. Good for you and listening!
Clella, thanks so much, sweetie. I love that verse.
Janean, lol...you are too cute. Yes, actually the squirrels do taunt him a bit. :P
