Vulture Vandalism

(Photo:Tampa Bay. com)

Check out this link .http://www.tampabay.com/components/video/vultures-are-vandals-at-myakka-river-state-park/750592958001/2652468001 to see video of these rather unattractive birds and what they are doing.

The newspaper article said Nissans was their car of choice. But they also like roof shingles, seat cushions on boats, and vehicles. Oh, and screens and pool covers seem to attract them. They really don't know why.

Vultures are not attractive to me, but I know God made them for a specific purpose. To clean up the dead animals. Now that I think of it, a nice dainty white feathered bird would look really gross eating a dead thing.

Diana Donaghy, a park biologist at Myakka River State Park has never touched one. Besides being mean and big, they smell. She states the Turkey vultures have a unique defense, they projectile vomit. OH YUK! Can you imagine dead stuff vomit??? Okay enough of that.

But I couldn't get over the question of  "why," why were they acting out?

"Post this at all the intersections, dear friends; Lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear. God's righteousness doesn't grow from human anger. So throw all spoiled virtue and cancerous evil in the garbage." James 1:19-21 (MSG)

How many times have I acted out in anger, only to make as much sense as these vulture vandals? Do my words stink? I probably look just as ugly, too.

Father don't let me dig in the garbage.

Well, they ARE scavengers, but a Nissan? ;)

There's a lesson, as always. You're always to good to bring it back around, Karen.

Hugs. Thanks for your thoughts today.

I think they are gross but yes they have an important role.

I love this post because I feel it's for me. I have been battling anger and just keep putting it at God's feet. It takes A LOT to get me irritated and when I do I want to talk talk talk to justify myself and accuse the other. I can't. Instead I've been leaning on scripture.

Thanks for the post! Oh...by the way...I'm out in the country and I have FIRST HAND seen baby vultures vomit up their lunch as a fear response to our being close. YUCK!

Wasn't able to watch the video Karen as it wouldn't play for me. I think I'm glad it wouldn't! We have a native parrot that will dismantle an unattended car if not stopped. They pull the rubber out of the windows and windscreen wipers, etc. It's called a Kea and lives in the South Island.

I know, I know. It makes us sick to think about that. Which means, I suppose, that the devil delights in our little spewings. Hmmm...

YOu always make me think. Thank you.

Cassandra, I know. Yuckie!

Janna, yes, Nissans-at least here in FL.

Denise, yes God did make them for that reason.

Parsley, I write what I need for me, too. Oh yuk, even the baby vultures vomit???

Dave, sorry the video didn't make it there. It showed the park rangers using an air cannon for noise to scare them away. Also close ups of those birds.

Jeanette, lol...yep, I bet the devil is a big spewer himself.

Karen you find the most unique images to comment on and always with a great lesson. I think there are other reason God creates what we think as useless things - they do things we can't even comprehend in our small brains - only He knows!
