Big Guy "T"

While this big guy was cooling in a mud puddle, another was trying to chase, now I use that word loosely, a smaller tortoise. And because his legs were longer, he caught up, and bumped the smaller one's shell.

But this guy watched us people passing by, until an ant walked in front of his nose. Big guy "T" looked like he wanted that tasty snack. The large head followed it from right to left, opened his mouth and missed. The little ant was too quick for him and my camera.

He looked my way as if to say, "What, what are you starin' at?" Comfy in his spot, he waited for another unsuspecting snack to come along. Usually when there is one ant, there are plenty more. (No I didn't wait to see if he got one.)
"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 3:18

When I act like Big Guy "T," all comfy and resist growing and learning, I miss out on things around me, and don't even see the little things that pass me by. Lord, give me knowledge to know when to step out of my puddle and the desire to learn from You.

His take it easy attitude is too infectious to me at times. I need to step out more! :O)

It's probably best not to bug big guy "t" when he's hunting for lunch. He could mistake your finger for a juicy caterpillar! :-)

My son has a pet Russian Tortioise; "Dance Party" is her name. These gentle giants are fun to watch, aren't they?

You always come up with clever applications for everything from sweet potatoes to ugly bugs! I like that.

Tortoises move slowly and live to old ages. Must be a lesson for us there somewhere Karen? - Dave

Poor thing has to live on a diet of bugs. I'd probably starve if that was my fate!

I thought it was a snake, but I see it's a cute turtle...
