Walk on the Wild Side

Welcome to a walk in Anderson Park at Tarpon Lake. (Check out that site to see the wonderful park.) On the boardwalk over the shallows we spotted several gators. They are cool from this distance.

Walking on to a spot next to a picnic table area, we came across this little fella. This was right on the water. I could have walked right out and petted him. Ha!

He was kind'a cute and he didn't appear afraid until I got a bit closer.

Then he swam away. I was a bit sad as I wanted a few more pictures.  Then it suddenly occurred to me that if these were little ones, where was the big ones?? So I said, "Feet, you better get me out of here."

"Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you, show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life." Psalms 143:8 (TNIV)

When I don't have the sense to see the danger, please turn me around and shove me in the right direction.

Hey, look at my new website! My son David created this. I just love it. Every time you click on another tab or refresh a new picture appears. Cool, huh? Wait 'till he starts on my blog!

Yikes? So what do you feed an alligator when you're having a picnic? Anything he wants.

Yeah, I'd be out of there in a heartbeat... or carrying a very long lens for the occasion. Cool pics.

Your son did a wonderful job with your website. Congrats to both of you.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw what you were photographing! EEK! Much more dangerous than the skunk on my blog!

Awww! He does look cute, right? Too bad his little teeth are razor sharp.

Nick, ha, anything except me!

Hilary, yep, me too if the mama had come along. Thanks for the kudos for my web site.

Lady Fi, thanks. :)Do you have gators in your lake?

Parsley, teehee, but they don't smell as bad. :P

Kathy, believe it or not, I have petted one. Of course he had his mouth taped shut.

Kelly, yeah, the little ones are kind'a cute.
