No More Wimpy Wimpy--and Contest

Here's my son David in Iraq at the beginning of Operation Freedom. He was crew chief over a couple of Amtracks (Amphibious Assault Vehicles.) He carried troops across the Tigris river into Bagdad.

Anyway, the Lord saw him safely through. Now I'm unashamedly touting one of his new adventures. Diesel's Seasonings. David has created his own spice line for meats. His first seasoning is for burgers, now you can't beat a good burger! For this he's tapped into a bit of his spicy cajun heritage.

David has declared a war on bland. No more wimpy meats.

Oh, he got that nickname in the Marines....absolutely NO diesel is combined in his seasoning....lol....

Diesel's Seasonings. Please check out his site.
**Tell me how you like your favorite hamburger, toppings and all, and the most delicious sounding will win a free bottle of Diesel's Seasoning for Burgers!!

Good luck to your son on this endeavor. I will certainly check things out.

My favorite burger is a little tropical: A toasted white bun, charcoal grilled 1/3 pound beef patty (well done, no pink), topped with melted cheddar, a crisp lettuce leaf, a fresh tomato slice, and two GRILLED PINEAPPLE RINGS, slathered in sweet teriyaki sauce.

Serve with a side of thick season salted fries and some extra napkins! YUMMMMMMMM!

I know I'm not going to win with this one because I'm such a plain Jane! I like a grilled hamburger with just a little bit of onion, pepper, and that's it!

Congrats to David! I've gotta try his Diesel's Seasonings.

Hope it takes off for you! Sounds like a tasty addition to a boring hamburger.

My favorite way is with salt and ketchup and maybe lettuce. :O)

How did he find time to start a company? You have one amazing boy .. I mean MAN, Karen. So glad he is safe. God is looking out for him!

A burger needs bacon, swiss cheese, mushrooms maybe a little onion cooked with it on a toasted bun. May God bless David's new business and thank you David for what you have done for your country. Clella

I'm easy--as long as you grill it so there is absolutely NO PINK inside at all. Just add ketchup and maybe pickle or a little mayo. Wouldn't mind trying something new.

I wish him the best of luck on this!!

I love it medium well, with lettuce, onion, cheese and lots of ketchup!!

A hamburger cooked medium with a thick sliced of onion, salt and pepper, light on the Mayo, between a bum and two hands to hold it together.

It don't get any better than that...except maybe for some "Diesel's seasoning for Burgers" thrown in the mix. But of course I'll never know unless I win that free bottle of "Diesel's".

Tell him from one vet to another...thanks for serving and putting your self in harms way for me and this great country of ours.

Never mind telling David thanks for me...I went to his web site and told him myself. I feel that strongly about our service men and their service.

I wish I'd see more people shaking hands with servicemen and women out in public and thanking them personally...picking up their tabs in restaurants, paying for their haircuts in barber shops. etc

Oh, ya'll have some good sounding burgers, here. I think I'll let David choose..teehee...

Stan, thanks so much for your encouragement. AND thank you for serviing our country!

I'm so excited for David!! My burger won't win...we are SO incredibly plain. Just cheese, lettuce and tomato.

But I'm on my way over to check out his site. Great news!

Karen, I'm glad David came home safely, and wish him well with his "seasonings" business. Pity I don't live closer. They sound great! - Dave

Angie, yes I remember those turtle burgers and my hubbie thought that was great! lol...

Laura, you sound almost like Johnnie.

Jeanie, oh yum, that does sound good.

Dave, thank you, wonder how much it would cost to send you one?

Anonymous, who are you?

I'm so impressed with this kind of creativity! I like mustard, catsup, garlic salt, and sweet relish on my burgers.

Love,

I've never been able to handle hot spicy foods. I'm afraid I fall into the plain category. But I do wish him well and much success. ~Ron

Hey, Karen -- You're one of the winners in my Snarky Editor contest. Congrats. (Post will be up tomorrow.) Send me your mailing address so I can send you the prizes? (AngieDLed@aol.com)

PS I tried to let Diesel know via FaceBook that he's welcome to do a guest chef post on any Tasty Tuesday, if he's interested. :) I'm new to FB...so not too sure the message went through. LOL

Love a great burger seasoning! Good for him for doing this!

My favorite is a well well done burger- yes I like the crispy ones on the outside, topped with lettuce, tomato(fresh and hearty, not white and mealy) , red onion, chipotle mayo or 1000 island dressing... whichever I have closer

Karen said...

Jeanette, hummmm, haven't tried sweet relish, always dill.

Ron, his stuff just has a bit of a bite, and thanks so much for the well wishes.

Oh, Angie, I can't believe it!! Oh yeah and thank you. I will talk to David tomorrow. I know he'll like to do a post! Aren't you the sweetest.

Alicia, oh, chipolte mayo sounds good. Yes, I agree, if the tomatoes aren't good, I'd rather not have one.

Janna, thanks. He's done well.

Dawn, that is a different burger! Yes, I am extremely proud. Hey, thanks for following.

What a great idea. Best of luck to your handsome, brave son.

Burger cooked with garlic and cracked pepper, topped with feta cheese, tzatziki sauce, tomato and green or red onion.

Karen said...

Hilary, that sounds great, too! I never knew all the ways you could dress up a burger!

Thanks to all who played. You all are winners! :)
