What Needs to Fall?

Leaves both once brilliant, now appear burned, dead and crackly. You can still see a bit of the color left in one. But neither started out that way. It almost seems a shame that the colored leaves must fall.

Wonder what would happen if the fall leaves stayed on the trees? Would the tree limbs not grow longer and stronger? What if the tree didn't want to change? Hmmmm?

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and sustain me with a willing spirit." Psalm 51:10 (NAS)
"God, make a fresh start in me, shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life." (MS)

What leaves in my life need to fall for my growth and strength? Lord take my unwillingness to let go of what I consider bright and shiny that will soon become dead and crackly. Create a "genesis" in me.

****Oh, check out my friend Laura's blog for her "own" book giveaway!

We all need that change, don't we?

I'm sad that we've passed peak colors. Winter will bring its own beauty, too, though.

I miss fall. I haven't seen anything that resembles fall here although some of the trees do change. We have all pine trees.

good reminder, Karen. We have our hands so full with things, we also need to let go so we can grasp God's hand!

A genesis. Yes, that is what a want. A renewal. A sweep out of all that needs to go.

PS: I did read with one eye closed to begin with, as I was afraid of what was falling out of your trees this time...snakes, lizards, creepy birds that eat snakes and lizards...LOL. XO

Love this... and I love the fall of leaves. The dying away of the old, the promise of new life, even in the dead of winter.

Janna, wow, winter already? Yes, each season has its beauty.

Kathy, we don't have much down here either. These were taken on my trip to VA.

Jeanie, oh, I like that! Let go, so we can take God's hand!

Wendy, I loved that idea too.

Ma TK, Lol.....yes, you never know what my crazy mind will come up with. :P Thanks, you are so sweet!

Bina, thank you dear friend.

Alisa, yes, yes, new life, even when all seems dead!

We have one type of tree growing in our area Karen that the leaves die but stay on the tree. I have never noticed but I guess they fall off when the new leaves come in spring. - Dave

I love when God uses the things right in front of us to talk to us- it is like He is less invisible.

Libbie, yes, I do like "my" colorful things, too. If I would only understand God is putting something better there.

Dave, so you don't have the leaves with the fall colors?

Jeanette, oh, this is a constant with me. WIP, you know!

Jeannie, when I'm able to look at things that way, I see Him all around. :)

Your posts are always so beautiful, Karen. The purging process is painful, but the new life He gives us is worth it! ;0)

Karen, late reading your blog posts as usual, but I would never want to miss them. So special and since we just drove through the beautiful sights of Ohio, Kentucky, W.Virginia and Virginia last week this post was even more meaningful. A new start - a Christ don't we? Love you Clella
