I'm afraid of bees, wasps and all those scary stinging critters. I could never be a bee keeper!
Why is it that these hurtful things help the flowers and plants become beautiful? Just seems like delicate flowers shouldn't need those scary bugs.
Then I got to thinking about life. Out of hurt "can" come beautifulness. (yep, my word) In my life, times of stinging bug-y-ness pollinated my attitude, actions, and my spirit. But when I turned to God, He smeared the pollen over my soul to grow stronger spiritual flowers.
"And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you." 1 Peter 5:10
When I hurt, make me beautiful. I want others to just see the flowers.

I can handle snakes, spiders,and all manner of creepy-crawly things, but I lose it whenever a bee, wasp, hornet or other insect with a "stinger" gets near me! I am terrified of them. Absolutely terrified. And if I hear them buzz? Oh my. I've lived a long life and I've never been stung! I plan to keep it that way!
I wonder what God was thinking, to create something so hideous that is so needed, lol!

I'm terrified of wasps too, but what a great way of looking at things.
Karen, its a pity you are afraid of bees. If it wasn't for them doing their work pollinating the flowers we would all die! I like bees and like to get close and watch them work - specially the bumble bees. They won't hurt you unless you bother them or try to harm them. If they fly by you just let them go, don't try to swat them. Can't say that I like wasps but again they usually won't touch you if you don't annoy them - Dave
They only hurt when they perceive danger. Not much different than anything else. But I understand your fears.. I share them.
I don't mind bees but I hate snakes. They remind me of Satan and his slitery, deceitful ways. I think some of them are helpful, too, but they're so UGLY!

I'm with you, Karen. I think flowers would be a LOT nicer without the stinging creatures! My daughter loathes wasps (she's been stung several times) and they seem to be all around our house! :(

I was terrified of the cicadas that took over this area this summer, and they don't even bite or sting!

Some bumble bee trivia : only the females sting (typical, huh?). Males have a spot on their heads, the females don't. So if you see a BB without the spot, leave it alone.
