Arrgh! I've tried to get a widget to act right on my gadget, it won't. Waaaah.
If you look at Hilary's blog, along the side bar she has this lovely widget from photobucket that rotates her blog awards. Not only is this neat-looking, but saves so much space. I wanted one.
But my side bar is too little, it cuts the pics in half. Hilary said her blog generates a lot of bandwith and she had to do extra stuff to get that little ole widget.
This morning, after working on it half the morning, I had a half widget on my gadget and it made my dashboard screen pop up on top of my layout screen and wouldn't let me cancel the half widget and then I got mad and made faces like my grandson, and.......
"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before stumbling....blessed is he who trusts in the Lord." Proverbs 16:18, 20
Yep, you know where I'm going with this. You noticed I wanted what I couldn't have. At least with my present situation. Even though I spent energy and time, my current site is too small. The time is still in the future.
May I take with grace and patience the Lord's timing for all things in my life. I don't want to be a cry-baby.

Technology can bring you to your knees!
I hear ya! I think my blog has produced hours of frustration at times. I keep telling myself, "Perspective, Melinda, perspective!" Because making sure our column widths are the right size, sometimes isn't as earthshatteringly important as we think, is it!? Hard to remember when I'm being a crybaby!! ;0)
Widgets. Witches. Goblins. Gadgets.
Who can tell the difference?
Sometimes techy things are too much for me.
And so is my pride.
Wanting what I have not.
Now.
Sweet dreams.
I wish I would have seen the face ...I can only imagine you smiling :)
P.S. I like the wiget or gadget you added to the bottom...I am not sure what it is....but I like it! He is a cutie!
Oh, I feel your pain, Karen! I've made a face or two that mirror your little grandson's. (Shhhh!)
Technology is great, but sometimes a little knowledge is downright aggravating. I hope that at some point you can get your widget.
In the meantime, have a good week!
Kathy, to my knees in more than one way!
Melinda, your blog is sooo neat! I'm just following the standard, and am still learning-as you can see.
Deb, yes, I'm so far behind in all this "techy" stuff. But I want it all...NOW! Oh dear "they that wait upon the Lord."
Libbie, my face was not pretty, can't even say it was a slightly attractive pout. :p That was a gadget at the bottom of my layout. I just put my grandson there, I should change it now that he's really dancing. (14 months)
Julie, I won't tell anyone..teehee.. I think I have to pay to restructure or something...I dunno. But onward and forward.
I wish I could help but I'm lost in this technological world. I do know where the 'on' button is. ;)
Argh sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you, Karen. If you had a different template, it certainly would. I hope you kept the setup on Photobucket so that if you did change Blogger templates, all you'd need to do is generate the code. I'm sorry for your frustration.
Wish I could help. Shall we pray? God knows what to do or who you should ask for help. He's pretty darn smart.
BTW, I didn't fold the towel you saw in the photo on my blog post Friday. Wish I had...
Parsley, I'm learning this stuff too. Hey, you switch templates, that's cool!
Hilary, yes, I kept the photobucket slideshow. I don't know about the bigger templates and things, YET. I'm glad you helped me, 'cause I learned about photobucket and doing the different slideshows-it's really neat!
Jeanette, Hilary tried to help me, but my blog is too narrow. Can't dish out money for anything bigger right now--but maybe with some research.... Yes, God knows, and maybe, He just wanted me to have patience. Thanks, sweetie.
Look at all the comments your widgets stirred up. You hit a hot button for all of us. how true!!!! You make me smile, widegetless and all. love ya!
Karen, there's no cost to changing your blog template. You simply need to go into the bowels of blogger. When in your blog, click on "Customize" at the top right. Then find the Layout tab and select "PIck New Template." Select one of the options. Your posts will all appear in this format now. You can then tweak the colours of just about everything in the Fonts and Colors tab.
Karen, I was wondering, like Hilary, if you changed your blog template in Blogger you may be able to fit it in. Worth a crack..... maybe? - Dave
Karen, Think how far you have come in the technology world. Wow!! Widgets??? and blogs??? isn't it mazing what we can do, but also isn't it interesting to find that we can't always do or have what we want ..whether it be technology or life. Thanks for you wisdom and I love your pictures you have been sharing.
Clella
Jeanie, I'm glad I'm not the only one...:P
Hilary and Dave, thanks. I'll try that later and see what happens. gulp...
Clella, yes you have helped me alot with all this techie stuff. Thanks for your sweet words.
K, you asked about the three columns - I went to "cutest blog on the block" and they have instructions on how to make 3 columns and have 3 column templates, as well ...it took me a few times to get it right, but I finally figured it out!
Isn't that the truth, Karen??? I always try and tell my kids, sometimes you get what you so badly wanted, but not in the same way you wanted it. That's another hard one to swallow....
And, even if your grandson was making faces, he sure is a cutie!!! So, you are safe there!
Kate
I still admire the pic of the snake... HEHEHE... Good job...
And, I don't even know what a widget is, so you got me there!!!
Grace seems to be on our minds, dear friend -- yours AND mine!
You got a lot of good advice, Karen! How nice!!
You'll get it, and then you can help ME! :0)
Kathryn, I'm checking that out. Thanks so much. It keeps all your info when you change right? gulp..
Sophie, awww, thanks for the kudos about my grandson. Yep, he is cute. Yuk, that snake still gives me the heebie jeebies.
Laura, your blog looks great. I know how to get it, I just need a wider blog template. Looking into that. :0
Cool blog as for me. It would be great to read more concerning this topic. The only thing that blog needs is some pics of some gizmos.
