What If I Let Go?

We went to a baseball game with friends this weekend. Vince, our friend, brought his glove because we sat near the foul pole. (See glove...) Now he also wanted ice cream. (See right hand holding cup of ice cream.)

We started laughing when he couldn't figure out how to eat his ice cream and keep his glove ready for any stray foul ball. His ice cream started to melt. Finally he let go of the glove to enjoy the delicious gooey stuff. lol......

"I give them real and eternal life. They are protected from the Destroyer for good. No one can steal them from out of my hand." John 10:27

Am I holding on to something that God can take care of? Why not let go, so I can enjoy the delight of His blessings?

Lord watch my foul balls and may I relax in Your hands.

Great picture- when we won't let go we are just handicapping ourselves. And yet letting go seems so hard some days when to everyone else its so obvious!

Great story once again.

I'm giving the whole game over to God.

Nicely done as always.

Oh, yes. Like the monkey with his hand in the peanut jar who can't eat any because his fist won't fit through the opening.

Teach me how to let go, Lord. I can live without foul balls, but not ice cream!

Great post, as always!

Thanks all ya'll, for the nice comments. But I think I have to agree with Jeannette-lets go for the ice cream. :P

Too cute! You know my son would be the exact same way! Great spiritual analogy, Karen. I find it so tough to let go, but lately God has been telling me to "Stand firm" and "Be still." Why then would I still rather run things -- even when I know He's so much better at it?! ;0)

Melinda, I just noticed we both are using "positions" to describe what the Lord is teaching.....hummmmm. Another good word play...

Jeanette, thanks and Happy 4th to you!
