Say Aaahhhh

At work I received a call from a patient who needed to cancel her appointment. She said her little boy was sick. She thought it was strep and wanted to get him into the doctor.

Her little boy disagreed. He said it was just bugs crawling down his throat, and doctors didn't help that. He didn't want to see the doc. Made me laugh.

At first I wanted to find a picture of a kid with a bug, but that's just too creepy for me. Yuk! So I thought this picture was cute.

Don't ya love how kids explain their feelings, even though adults see life differently. Makes us old fogeys smile. I know, I'm speaking for myself.....

"We don't yet see things clearly. We're squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won't be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We'll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he know us!" 1 Corinthians 13:12 (Message)

Feeling bugs in my throat, possibly, but more in my heart, mind and attitude. Yucky, crawly bugs of frustration, doubt, quit, sadness.....

If you're alive, I know you've been there, too.

Praise the Lord one day He'll explain all of it to us; and in the meantime, I need to take the medicine. The sweetness of His word, helps the medicine kill all my creepy crawlies.

HAHA funny how kids describe things. Great story.

Such words are a comfort.

My youngest, when her foot has fallen asleep, says it feels like Pop Rocks. You know, that fizzy, tingly feeling? I was amazed she came up with that analogy on her own.

How cute and what a great reminder to remember to smile. Things could be worse: we really could have bugs crawling in our throats. UGH!!

Kathy, I work for a chiropractor.

Parsley, :)

Janna, that is a good description, say write that one down!

Clella, Laura, Jeanie, and Analisa, thanks, I just love using kids "talk."

Which is why I love writing from the POV of kids from about 8 til 12 or so - even if my books are for adults. They way they see the world is facinating and innocent, yet honest!

The 2 little girls in the photo remind me of my granddaughters.
Watching kids at play is more fun than watching monkeys in the zoo.

I hope you have a great week Karen

Jill and I love seeing young kids - the well behaved ones... at the supermarket or at a restaurant. I enjoyed your description here about the kiddy with the bugs in his throat, and laughed at your grandson with the red all over him. :-) Great photos, great kid! - Dave

yep, been there and know i'll probably visit *bug land* again, but having the hope and knowledge that it won't last forever is so comforting. the Great Physician probably laughs at the way i describe my emotional and spiritual condition too! lol.

great post.

Yes, I feel them too, Karen.

I like that you describe the Word as sweet medicine; that reminds me of Mary Poppins!

Love you, dear,
Jen

Dave, thanks so much. I don't think his mom will ever get that out of his shirt. :)

Janean, yes, creepy crawlies do get in every now and then.

Jen, thanks for those sweet words. Blessings**

Hi Karen,
My son thinks of his own way of explaining things too. He would say, "buckle me out" to get out of his car seat, and if he didn't shut the car door hard enough, he would say, "I have to shut the door louder." Kid have a great way of looking at the world.

And what sweet medicine, we all need our daily dose. Take care!
